  • GTS Novera has launched a new service, the Novera call centre. The service offers the comprehensive outsourcing of a company call centre with guaranteed quality and service provided by state-of-the-art, secure technology. The Novera call centre has been developed for all companies in the Czech Republic that either do not wish to establish their own call centre or are not capable of running it outside standard working hours - whether due to lack of capacity or the absence of personnel. The Novera virtual assistant is a value-added service providing for reliable office operations when the personnel are not at work.
  • In accordance with its previously announced strategy, GTS Novera is focusing exclusively on corporate clients and is gradually exiting the households and self-employed tradesperson segment. As part of this strategic decision the companies GTS Novera and Centrum Holdings have agreed on a change of operator of approximately 40,000 e-mail and web accounts of the Raz Dva service.

October

  • There is more and more demand for housing centres, even during the current economy recession. GTS Novera announced its plans for further growth in this sphere. The company plans to open an expanded centre in Brno at the end of this October, and a new Prague housing centre will be opened next spring covering 700 m². The planned expansions follow the opening of a data hall in Prague this summer.
  • GTS Novera employees donated blood. A mobile transfusion station of the Prague Central Military Hospital visited the company headquarters in Prague in order to make it easy for dozens of employees to give blood.

  • The new Corporate Projects Director is Robert Lhota. He has replaced Jan Čornej who has been appointed the company’s technical director. In his new position he is responsible for managing the project office where corporate strategic projects are conducted, both within GTS Novera and those that affect the parent international group GTS CE.

  • Jan Čornej was appointed a new director of the technical division. Jan Čornej has worked at GTS Novera in several positions nine years. In this post, he replaced Tomáš Budník who left the company lately.

July

  • With effect from 1 July of this year, our company, GTS NOVERA a.s., is merging without liquidation with GTS NOVERA s.r.o., which becomes the successor company. The decision on the merger was taken in connection with the continuing consolidation of the international telecommunications group GTS Central Europe, of which GTS Novera is a part.
  • GTS Novera launched a new wireless network in Prague. The network runs on FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) technology in 28 GHz band and it significantly increases the capacity of the existing access network of GTS Novera in Prague. The network is intended for corporate customers seeking high quality, guaranteed, high-speed IP services. Development and implementation of the network took twelve months, while plans for further extension are underway.
  • GTS Novera has completed the expansion of the housing centre in Prague by adding a new hall. Customers have already reserved more than 30% of the new capacity. GTS Novera operates four data centers in total located in Prague, Brno and Ostrava. Expansion of the Brno centre is under preparation at the moment.

  • Mr. Petr Štajner, former director of the wholesale and external relations division in GTS Novera, has been appointed Vice-President and Head of Wholesale Voice Services for GTS Central European Holding B.V. (GTS CE), a leading Central European telecommunications operator. In this newly created position, Petr Štajner will be responsible for developing and managing the national and international wholesale voice business of the entire GTS CE Group. He will be based in Prague, Czech Republic.

May

  • GTS Novera simplified payment for its customers using the Novera duo service. It invoices them not only for the services provided, but also a flat rate for the rental of telephone lines owned by the dominant operator. This means that Novera duo has become part of a quite comprehensive telephone services and internet connection solution for small businesses. A customer therefore gets only one invoice from one operator - for calls, internet connection and line rental.

  • BT and GTS Novera announced today that GTS Novera has joined the BT Alliance programme with a Gold Partner status, making it easier and more cost-effective for multinational companies in the Czech Republic to take advantage of BT’s global networked IT services capabilities. GTS Novera is the only BT Alliance partner in the Czech Republic.

March

  • GTS Novera is simplifying payments made by customers using its services. The company is the first operator in the CR to reach an agreement with the dominant operator by means of which it will now invoice those of its customers using telephone lines owned by incumbent, not only for the services it provides itself, but also the fixed fee for renting telephone lines. The customer will now receive only one invoice from GTS Novera, which for the customer will be the sole contact for resolving most of their customer requirements. As part of the special offer new customers will receive up to a 50% reduction on the standard telephone line rental fee depending on their telephone operations.
  • The national telecommunications operator GTS Novera launched its new service, Novera virtual fax. This allows a user to send and receive faxes simply and quickly, either directly from an e-mail program or using a web interface, regardless of where the user is located at any given time. The Novera virtual fax service offers the well-organized archiving of faxes and enables companies to save on time and money. Naturally traditional fax machines can still be used, even when using VoIP technology.

  • The international telecommunication group GTS CE, that GTS Novera is a member of, has released its 2008 financial results. The revenue of GTS CE amounted to € 436 million. The EBITDA indicator totaled € 77 million. The 2008 GTS CE financial performance represents the best results in the 15 year history of the Group, strengthening its position as the leading alternative telecommunication operator in Central&Eastern Europe.

  • GTS Novera links the new Czech EU Council Presidency portal to the Internet. The company is the provider of connectivity for AutoCont CZ a.s., which won the tender announced by the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic for creation and administration of a portal. This portal provides information about the European Union to the professional and general public. GTS Novera shall provide 100 Mbps connectivity up to 2011.
  • GTS CE, a telecommunication group in Central Europe including GTS Novera , implemented uniform e-mail addresses on gtsce.com domain, common for all employees of the Group. The pattern of new e-mail addresses will be name.surname@gtsce.com. The existing addresses will remain active for a certain period of the time after the migration has been completed in order to avoid negative impacts of the migration to the new domain on communication with customers and business partners. All e-mails sent to old addresses will be automatically forwarded to new ones. The above changes will affect only employee addresses. General e-mail addresses intended for communication with customers and business partners (e.g. info@gtsnovera.cz) remain unchanged.

  • GTS Novera launched a new service Novera lambda. The service offers high-speed data transfer at the speed up to 40 Gbps at the company's proprietary fiber infrastructure. Novera lambda has been designed for telecommunication providers and large corporations that need to transfer large volumes of data, for example between individual country offices within the region.

October

  • GTS Novera released its interim financial results. GTS Novera 's revenues generated from sales of telecommunication services amounted to CZK 2.65 billion in H1/2008. The EBITDA indicator totaled CZK 385 million. These results reflect the company business plan for 2008 that expects stable revenues and an EBITDA level along with an emerging investments increase due to the infrastructure modernization that will be completed in 2009.
  • Radim Chudárek is new Director of Sales Section for the Corporate Customers Segment. He took over this position in October to replace Petr Možíš who earlier became Director of GTS Novera 's Sales Division. Previously, Radim Chudárek worked as Sales Manager in GTS Novera for many years. In his new position, he is responsible for customer relationship development and new corporate customers acquisition.

  • Director of the sales section for corporate segment for many years, Petr Možíš became director of the sales division of the entire company. This post was restored to the organizational structure of GTS Novera by Stuart Evers, who in July took over the post of Chief Executive Officer from Milan Rusnák. Until now, management of the sales division had fallen within the competence of the company managing director.
  • GTS Novera modified the offer of Novera DSL internet connection services for new customers. The existing four speed profiles were replaced with two new 8 Mbps and 16 Mbps profiles. The price remains the same as in the old 2 Mbps and 4 Mbps profiles - CZK 395 and CZK 595 monthly without VAT. The speed upgrades also include Novera komplet pro, Novera komplet office and Novera duo expres service packages that combine internet connection and voice services.
  • Mr. Ignacio Irurita has been appointed Chief Technology Officer for GTS Central European Holding B.V. (GTS CE), a family telecommunication group of GTS Novera . In his new position, Ignacio Irurita is responsible for managing GTS CE's regional network, unifying domestic networks and creating common operational platform for the subsidiaries of the Group. He is be based in Prague, Czech Republic.

August

  • GTS Novera signed implementation contracts for the provision of data and voice services to 29 public administrative agencies and institutions, with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The services include the provision of high-capacity VPN and Internet connections as well as ISDN PRI direct voice services and Green Lines for a total of 486 locations. The implementation contracts constitute a part of the general agreement for provision of data and voice services within the Public Administration Communication Infrastructure (KIVS) executed by GTS Novera with the Government in March last year.

  • GTS Novera was awarded the ISO 14001:2004 international environmental protection system certificate. As part of its company-wide Green Novera project, GTS Novera adopted a responsible approach to the environment and modified all its company activities to meet the stringent certification criteria.
  • Chief Sales Officer of GTS CE Stuart Evers was appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of GTS Novera. Stuart Evers replaced the current CEO Milan Rusnák, who left the company.

  • GTS Novera reduced the prices of its services - Novera duo expres and Novera komplet office. Both of these services that differ in their targeted clientele (the Novera duo express service is designed for small companies, sole traders and home offices while the Novera komplet office is designed for SMEs) represent an advantageous combination of calling with broadband Internet connectivity. Recurrent monthly fees of this special offer are lower by about 10 % in the case of the Novera duo express or about 30 % - 95 % in the case of the Novera komplet office, depending on voice traffic volume.
  • GTS Novera revised its offer of the Novera DSL Internet connectivity. Customers will pay mere CZK 1.00 for the service provisioning so that it may save up to CZK 990.00. This price depends neither on a length the pertinent contract is concluded for nor on the price program selected. If the customer commits to use the service for a longer period of time it can also select one of several modems offered for an advantageous price.

  • Group Menatep Limited (GML) has sold 100 per cent of the shares in its subsidiary GTS Central Europe (GTS CE) to a consortium of private equity funds, including Columbia Capital, M/C Venture Partners, Innova Capital, HarbourVest Partners, Oak Investment Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners (the Consortium). The acquisition deal was successfully closed in the beginning of May.
  • As Adam Sawicki, new CEO of GTS CE, stated on the press conference, the group plans to intensify cooperation among its local subsidiaries in CEE region, to extend its telecommunications services offer for the whole region and to enter the German and Austrian markets by opening business-offices in these countries.
  • GTS Novera, the largest member of GTS CE with 51 % share of group revenue, plans to strengthen its position in ICT solutions. Corporate segment and government & public sector remain the key business focus areas

  • The website www.gtsnovera.cz of GTS Novera won the first place in the Best Corporate On-Line Presentation category of the 6th Golden Semicolon contest of corporate presentations and publications.
  • GTS Novera was voted the best company of the City of Prague in the 4th annual Company of the Region competition. The competition, the aim of which is to point out the companies which have actively been working with people, supporting their staff, and thus significantly influencing the region they have resided in, was organized by INC Consulting.
  • GTS Novera held a set of seminars for its customers in Prague and Brno. During these workshops, GTS Novera presented its data services and additional products (Novera managed office and Novera virtual office), which bring to customers better data communication security and provide service modification and adjustment on the customers´ site.

March

  • GTS Novera announced its 2007 financial results. Compared to 2006 the most important indicator, EBITDA grew by 13 % to more than CZK 1.041 billion. The company achieved a net profit of CZK 16.7 million. Revenues totaled CZK 5.765 billion, i.e. a similar level to 2006. GTS Novera has achieved the best business results since it started its operation.
  • GTS Novera announced cancellation of all data limits. This decision applied even to the Novera DSL Fun service, a lowest variant of Internet connectivity offered, where this limitation had still been effective. This action followed up the last year’s cancellation of data limits with respect to the Novera duo expres service. By adding this basic offer GTS Novera completed its offering of unlimited Internet connectivity. Owing to the dominant operator’s wholesale offer the company had been forced to offer this service with a data limit only.
  • The metropolitan telecommunication network of the Bilovec micro-region, constructed by GTS Novera, has been awarded The Communication Project of the Year. The title was given by the Westminster Society and the Communication Agencies Association within the project European Monitor of Government Communications that observes communication of local bodies and officials.

  • GTS Novera has launched a brand new communication channel for customers and all of those who are interested in GTS Novera's services. They all can use not only a standard ways of contact (phone and e-mail) but now also chat with GTS Novera's operators. This new interactive application is available at GTS Novera webpage and it is very easy to use.

  • GML's subsidiary, the shareholder of GTS Central Europe ("GTS CE"), has entered into an agreement to sell 100% of the shares in GTS CE to a consortium of private equity funds, led by Columbia Capital, M/C Venture Partners and Innova Capital. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2008.

  • Euromoney's Capacity magazine announced GTS CE as the winner of its annual "Best CEE Wholesale Provider" award. The award, won against significant competition from both alternative and incumbent carriers, was given to GTS CE in recognition of continued enhancement of network reach and depth of access infrastructure solutions across the CEE region. GTS CE was also awarded in 2005.
  • GTS Novera expects a broader use of VoIP based services within the SME segment in future. Therefore the company has already prepared its Novera virtual exchange service providing the companies for calling among individual extensions for free. The virtual switchboard is a fully outsourced solution of the in-house communication with minimum requirements for operations and possibility of easy operations through standard office applications. Compared to a classical PBX it generates 35% cost saving.

  • GTS Novera increased from 1st October data limits for its high-speed Internet connection via its Novera DSL service. Customers enjoy a monthly transmission increase of 9 to 18 GB of data depending on the speed of the connection used. The change in the data limit was conducted automatically. For Novera DSL services for which there are no data limits applied, the parameters remained unchanged.

  • GTS Novera has prolonged special offers of two main services for medium- and small‑sized enterprises. Novera duo expres and Novera komplet office is advantageous combination of voice and internet services. GTS Novera has simultaneously extended coverage of Novera duo expres service to Olomouc, Zlin, Nymburk, Benesov, Ceske Budejovice, Pardubice and Karlovy Vary.

  • GTS Novera announced his financial results. The H1/2007 was as successful as the year 2006. During the last year, the company succeeded in completing the integration of competitive operators - namely Contactel, Telenor and Nextra. Despite a demanding transformation all of this had a positive impact on financial results of both GTS Novera and its parent company GTS Central Europe, a Central European operator.   • The leading central European fixed-line telecommunications group GTS Central European Holding B.V. (GTS CE) officially launches its unique regional MPLS network for retail customers. The MPLS network is a single robust and high-quality entity that covers five GTS CE countries (Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and the Czech Rep.) with a single Network Operation Center located in Prague. Using this network, companies operating throughout Europe can link their regional branch offices with fully sufficient and secure state-of-the-art data connection.
  • The City of Valasske Mezirici launched a newly developed metropolitan network the operation of which is ensured by GTS Novera. The metropolitan network not only interconnects local administration subjects and institutions but also helps to commercial subjects. As for the citizens they are primarily offered a broadband Internet connectivity. Twenty publicly accessible Internet information booths are a part of the network. GTS Novera continues in its successful cooperation with local authorities - GTS Novera has already launched similar networks e.g. in Vsetin, Uhersky Brod and the Bilovec micro-region.

  • GTS Novera launched a new service, namely the Novera managed office, which is addressed to SMEs as a comprehensive solution of their Internet connectivity security. Users are provided with functions of an external mail-server and secure protection against viruses, hacker attacks, spams and other risks. The Novera managed office service provides for all advantages of an outsourced solution - for a recurring monthly fee the customer is provided with a high-level security without any large investment costs.
  • GTS Novera extended an availability of its Novera duo express service, which targets the smallest companies, trades and home offices. The advantageous combination of the standard telephone service and unlimited broadband Internet connectivity is now (together with previous Praha, Brno, Ceske Budejovice, Hradec Kralove, Liberec, Ostrava, Pardubice a Plzen) also available to the customers in Karlovy Vary, Jihlava, Kolin and Usti nad Labem.

  • At the beginning of June GTS Novera, as the very first operator, decided to cancel the limit of data transferred, namely in the case of its service combining voice and Internet connection Novera duo expres. A few days later the company announced so-called "data holidays" for its broadband Internet connectivity service Novera DSL. From July 1, 2007 to September 30, 2007 there will be administered neither any volume nor any speed limitations towards both the new and current customers.
  • In June there were put into operations metropolitan networks in Uherský Brod and the Bílovec micro-region. In either case the telecommunication network connects individual institutions and subjects of the local administration and constitutes a unified communication system. Through several PIAPs (Public Internet Access Point) it provides for easier communications with the authorities to both local inhabitants and visitors. A launch of both networks was another project from a number of projects with respect to the development of metropolitan networks GTS Novera has been preparing in cooperation with representatives of local administrations all over the Czech Republic.

  • GTS Novera has launched a brand new service called Novera duo expres. This service extends Novera komplet office service, combines standard phone services with a broadband Internet connection and is addressed to the smallest companies, trades and home offices The Novera duo expres service offers usage-based fees amounting from CZK 0.88 per a minute and ADSL connection with the transmission rate up to 8 Mbit/s.

April

  • GTS Novera has significantly increased transmission rates of its ADSL broadband internet connection service. The lowest transmission rate offered for the data downloading is 2 Mbit/s, the highest rate reaches 8 Mbit/s. If the customers use the action offer they will pay CZK 395 (exl. VAT) monthly for the connection with the transmission rate 4 Mbit/s. The increase of transmission rate for the current customers was free of charge.
  • GTS Novera presented its current strategy within the area of state administration and local governments. The company intents to keep on increasing its market share within this segment and grab a 20% market share by 2010. A nationwide team of GTS Novera's experts offers to the state administration subjects and local governments not only telecommunication solutions but also related consulting which is primarily focused on a financing through EU funds. The state administration subjects and local governments may use EU funds for a development of a metropolitan network, regional network or broadband Internet connectivity. Up to 85 % of valid costs may be obtained from EU structural funds. Additional funding is also offered by state and district budgets.

  • GTS Novera undersigned a General agreement on ensuring the public administration communication infrastructure. It is a significant step within the area of the provision of telecommunication solutions for the state administration. The general agreement supersedes the former general agreement under which the monopoly provider was a dominant operator.
  • GTS Novera was ranked as one of 100 most admired companies in the Czech Republic for the first time. The Top 100 list has been compiled upon an evaluation of about 500 managers working in the Czech Republic.

  • GTS Novera, which is the exclusive partner of the BT Infonet in the Czech Republic, has been awarded the quality certificate "BT Infonet HelpDesk Certificate". This certificate is a proof of a high-level quality of GTS Novera's Customer Center.
  • One year after the acquisition of competitive telecommunication operators Contactel, Nextra and Telenor Networks GTS Novera completed the integration of telecommunication networks acquired. GTS Novera's new extended network is one of the largest telecommunication networks in the Czech Republic. It offers to the users of telecommunication services a wide assortment of end-user connections, high transmission rate and guaranteed service quality (SLA). This January the network handled over 200 million calls; i.e. 71 % more calls compared to January 2006.

  • The brand new telecommunication solution based on Local Loop Unbundling has been launched in Prague and regional capitals. The Novera komplet office service that combines standard telephone services with a broadband Internet connectivity is addressed to entrepreneurs and SMEs.

  • As of July 1, 2006 GTS Novera completed the integration of former companies GTS Novera Contact, s.r.o., GTS Novera Next, s.r.o. and GTS Novera Tel, s.r.o. into a single business company GTS Novera a.s.

  • GTS Novera has changed its headquarter. It moved from business centre Zirkon in Prague 8 to the brand new business centre Luxemburg Plaza in Prague 3, Premyslovska 2845/43.

May

  • GTS Novera presented its new Novera duo garant service designed mainly for smaller companies, private entrepreneurs and home offices. The service, which features an Internet connection and voice calling, brings both savings on telecommunication costs and other useful applications available via the Internet.

April

  • GTS Novera filed another lawsuit last week with the Municipal Court in Prague against Český Telecom due to its deceptive comparative advertising.
  • The first phase of the integration of operators, whose acquisition the parent company GTS CEH completed in late January and early February, was culminated. On 1 April 2006 the company Contactel s.r.o. was renamed to GTS Novera Contact, s.r.o., while NEXTRA Czech Republic s.r.o. became GTS Novera Next, s.r.o. The new expanded portfolio of GTS Novera services was also presented along with these changes.

  • GTS Novera presented its development strategy following its acquisitions of Contactel, Telenor Networks and Nextra. The acquisition completed around 1 February will help the company consolidate the Czech telecommunications market, develop access opportunities to end users and increase its ability to compete with Český Telecom. The current portfolio of GTS Novera services will be expanded from April - especially data and Internet services.

  • GTS Novera changed from 1 February the structure of offered ADSL services. Connection speeds of 3072/256 kb/s and 4096/512 kb/s will be featured in the new offer.
  • GTS Central European Holding (GTS CEH), which includes the Czech nationwide telecommunications operator GTS Novera, concluded in Prague today the acquisition of Contactel.

  • GTS Novera formally completed the nearly year-long process of joining GTS Czech and Aliatel. In accordance with the previously announced plan, GTS Novera a.s., GTS CZECH, a.s., KPNQwest Czechia s.r.o. and GTS Carrier Services merged. These latter three companies were as of 31 December 2005 deleted from the business register and ceased to exist. From 1 Jan 2006 GTS Novera a.s. became the successor company of all three name companies.
  • GTS Central European Holding (GTS CEH) completed its acquisition of the company Telenor Networks and Nextra in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia.

  • GTS Central European (GTS CE), acquired, in addition to Contactel, a 100% share in Telenor Networks and Nextra in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia.
  • "The purchase of Telenor and Nextra is the next logical step in consolidating the Czech telecommunications market," said Milan Rusnák, director general of GTS Novera, in reference to yesterday's conclusion of agreements. “Telenor and Nextra are a major boost to the further development of our company. Together with Contactel, which we acquired in November, they will help us develop services for all our customers," Mr. Rusnák added.

  • GTS Central European (GTS CE), which includes the Czech nationwide telecommunications operator GTS Novera, signed the agreement on the purchase of the 100% share of Contactel s.r.o.
  • This step further solidifies the position of GTS Novera as a nationwide operator on the Czech market as well as the position of the GTS CE group in the Central European region. Contactel is one of the leading telecommunication operators geared mainly toward the segment of small and mid-size companies.

  • GTS Novera took part in the Invex fair. In addition to its exposition in pavilion B, representatives presented the company as part of accompanying programmes. GTS Novera Director General Milan Rusnák gave a talk at the Electronic Communication Forum; Milan Berka spoke at the conference entitle "Electronic Support in Developing Regions - Days of Regions, Towns and Municipalities".
  • Marketing experts were also working the GTS Novera stand at Invex. GTS Novera's exposition was nominated for the AURA - most effective fair participation - competition.
  • The project of IZIP's electronic patient booklets, which GTS Novera assisted in, received the Award of the Minister of Informatics at Invex for a major contribution to the development of an information society.

  • Tennis star Tomáš Berdych became the face of the telecommunications company GTS Novera. “We decided on a partnership with and the support of Tomáš Berdych for several reasons. Tomáš is solid proof that talent is only part of the success formula. Other important factors are quality preparation well in advance, gaining experience and the support of a professional team which can always be relied on.
  • GTS Novera is building a future based on very similar principles,” said GTS Novera Marketing Director Tereza Vránková.

  • GTS Novera will take part in the project of developing multimedia content transmitted via high-speed Internet. In connection with this the company will also devote much attention to the operation content on it - and in relation to this the area of multimedia applications, the dissemination of images and sound via digital television and radio broadcasting and the area of video conferences and teleconferences.
  • GTS Novera and the Telecommunications Institute of the Technical College (VUT) in Brno have collaborated on a joint grant project. The project is entitled “Optimising Methods of Multicast in IP networks".
  • "Over the upcoming years we expect further development of data services, especially in the residential sector. The expansion in improved quality of the transmitted content will go hand-in-hand with this. Our plan is to be competitive in this regard too,” said Tomáš Budník, Sales Director of GTS Novera.

  • A promotional offer is kicked off 1 July 2005 which will last to the year’s end: Customers ordering the Novera telephone preselection service and Internet connection via ADSL will not pay a thing for the connection for the rest of the year, and GTS Novera will activate the service for them free of charge.
  • GTS Novera takes part in the project "Optimising Methods for Multicast in IP Networks" together with the Telecommunications Institute of the Technical College (VUT) in Brno. This project's objective is to create and test in laboratories and actual cases the conditions for operating real computer networks of a new method of omni-directional broadcasting with feedback, which enables information to be gathered from broadcast recipients.

  • APVTS announced that since the introduction of number portability, 1.5 million numbers have been ported in the Czech Republic. Nearly 1.2 million of these numbers have been ported to the GTS Novera network.
  • Summer with Novera - the summer promotional offers for the voice and Internet services Novera Komplet, Novera telephone preselection and Novera DSL Basic (or DSL Novera Profi+) were launched.
