Prague, 17 August 2009 – Jan Čornej, a former Corporate Projects Director, was appointed a new director of the technical division of the nationwide telecommunications operator GTS Novera

Jan Čornej has worked at GTS Novera in several positions nine years. He worked as IT system analyst, product manager, project manager and lastly as the Corporate Projects Director. In this post, he replaces Tomáš Budník who left the company lately.

“The position of technical director is one of the most important in our company given the demanding market in which we operate; further, GTS Novera as the largest group member provides a centre point for many of our regional initiatives within the GTS CE group. That is why we aimed to fill this post as soon as possible,” explained Stuart Evers, Chief Executive Officer of GTS Novera, adding: “Jan’s appointment follows our strategy to promote from within and create distinct and successful career paths within our company for all of our employees. Jan meets all our expectations as for leadership, professionalism and technical skills and brings in his huge energy and motivation potential.”

“My task is to carry on GTS Novera’s technology unification with other affiliated companies within the GTS CE. In the Czech telecommunication market, I will push for further backbone network modernization and for enlargement of our access infrastructure for our corporate and business customers,” said Jan Čornej, the new director of the technical division of GTS Novera, setting out his main strategic objectives.

Jan Čornej was born in Prague in 1977. He studied Business and Computing at Technical University in Liberec. Jan is married and has a just born (3 weeks) daughter. When not at work he enjoys his family. As for sporting activities, he practises wakeboarding and cycling. He loves skiing and snowboarding in winter.
