GNP - Geographic Number Portability

A service that enables the subscriber to terminate its contract with its current service provider and conclude a new contract with another provider without changing either location or the service character. All authorised providers of public telecommunication fixed-line networks in the Czech Republic are to offer GNP and be able to import and export geographic phone numbers.

Gateway

An interface for data transmission between applications/protocols. It endeavours to overcome differences between actual interfaces of the two applications. Thanks to the gateway, it is also possible to use one network as a transparent connection between two networks with absolutely different parameters.
